Maybe this will work?!

I have been so absent from blogging. I am sure most would say we've had a lot going on. The truth is we're always on the go so logging into a computer to post wasn't working for me. Hopefully now with it on my phone we'll be more in the loop...

Jillian Grace Maddux

We were blessed with the birth of Jillian Grace on August 3rd. Mom and baby are doing well and we just arrived home last night. She was 7lbs 13oz and 20.5 inches long. The doctors laughed about this one being extremely small relative the previous 9lb plus giants that preceded her. So far, she just eats and sleeps, does very little crying, and has a habit of going potty every time you change her diaper! Let the games begin...

Beau Learns to Skate

Our little man wants so badly to play Ice Hockey but we've had to convince him that it all starts with skating skills. He's been pretty patient so far considering all he wanted to do was score a goal. No sticks yet but he's come a long way since February when he couldn't even stand up:)

Linnea Scores her First Goal

We have had a fun spring with Linnea starting her first team sport. She is #5 for the The Lady Bumblebees and loving her hot pink uniforms. The first game started with a lot of dancing and cheering, not quite sure she could take the ball from someone else but after 5 games it started to click! Game 6 of the season and she has started to understand how the game works; she even scored her first goal! Watch closely - it happens fast:) Even better my parents were in town from Michigan to witness it!

Maddux party of 5....

Justin and I have been keeping it a secret long enough...we are expecting a baby in August!! We're super excited and a little nervous about switching to zone defense. Fortunately Linnea will be 5 this summer, she's such a big helper already. Linnea of course wants a baby sister, Beau a baby brother so he can "tackle him down". Poor kid, it'll either be a punching bag or dressed as a baby doll. Either way it'll be a whole new adventure since it's been 3 years since an infant was in this house:)

Trip out West

Our family took a trip out west this past week to visit family and got the opportunity to visit a fw new places. It's been ages since I posted anything on here but I have to remember it doesn't have to be anything huge to post pics. The kids have been hilarious and we've really enjoyed the road trip as opposed to lugging all our stuff on a plane. It's been a peaceful week, only one more day left. Here's a few pics of our recent adventures. We visited Kingman, AZ where Justin's Dad is from and spent a day in the Hualapai Mtns. We then made our way up to Grand Canyon, AZ. It was beautiful, never thought I would see pictures of the Grand Canyon with snow. We stopped for a few days in Santa Fe, NM and have been staying at the wonderful Hacienda at Hotel Santa Fe. The food is amazing in this town, the shops are awesome (beutiful art and turquoise!) we even found Beau an awesome Pueblo drum. We've been getting a ton of snow today so we're spending the late afternoon warming up by the fireplace in our room. It's been an awesome family vacation, definitely a place we'd like to revisit someday and maybe then learn how to ski!

Easter Belssings

What a wonderful holiday we had! We realize we have so many things to be grateful for. This year has really brought us so many surprises. A year ago at this time we took the plunge without a clue what was in store and here we are celebrating such a special time of year in a fabulous city with beautiful weather and wonderful friends. We're blessed to have our health, jobs and each other. The bluebonnets were in full bloom and gave us an opportunity to soak up some sun. We had so much fun and I love to see them appreiate the outdoors as much as they do.

The Easter eggs were died this year with minimal mess which amazes even the clean freak in me! Last year Beau resembled the Incredible Hulk, this year we were very careful for some reason.

The morning hunt went well, although it was extremely early. and we got a glimpse of the competitive side in our kids; not sure where they get that from:) I am still picking Easter grass out of the carpet...

We had a wonderful dinner with our good friends Jeff, Emily and Jack of course the Easter Bunny left some goodies for the kids there as well.

I am so grateful for all the Lord has allowed us to do with our lives and I thank him every day for the life he's helped Justin and I guide our family through. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend as well! Love and God Bless ~
